Ive found a good free tool for HTML Tidy but the program doesnt save the settings i pick so I have to select them everytime.

Just wondering if this is a good idea or not for EE

Tidy (http://tidy.sourceforge.net/) could be a possible feature, but we're trying to limit our dependency on 3rd-party code and feature bloat. I don't think it will make it into the 1.0 release, but it could come up again for discussion at a later point. That's just my take on it, anyhow.

Seems like this would be a good "Add-In" type of feature since it would just be bload for some people, yet very valuable for others.

It's definitely a "bolt-on" feature rather than a core feature. I wouldn't personally use HTML-Tidy or its like, but that's just me. It is worth considering for plugins, though.
