Microsoft Html Help SDK 1.4

.chm help files are indexed and searchable, which is a feature I treasure in a help facility.  they are the help files everyone is familiar with.  they are usable with WINE on linux and MAC using hh.  they are compressed.

suggest you use this facility Microsoft has made provision for.  I haven't read the license for the SDK, it would be a good idea.

This is a possibility, but pn has done most of the doc work so he is the one that would probably be best to look at this.

I was thinking about it and wanted to implement it but could not find an easy way to create CHM files. If there is one point me in a right direction.

Thanks,
PN.

@PN
Maybe You can convert .doc to .html using "WordToHTML CV" from TechnoRiver:
- web page: http://www.technoriversoft.com/
- download installer (exe format): http://www.technoriversoft.com/downloads/wordhtml.exe
- download installer (zip format): http://www.technoriversoft.com/downloads/wordhtml.zip
- download source code: http://www.technoriversoft.com/downloads/wordhtmlsource.zip

I'll look into this. Is there anything to convert HTML to CHM? That would be quicker.

@PN
try "Microsoft HTML Help 1.4" (freeware):
- Official site: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....lpDownloads.asp
- Direct link to download: http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/A...64/htmlhelp.exe
(I have found this program in the following thread: http://www.trap17.com/index.php/free-chm-creator_t21403.html)
Personally I use PowerCHM (shareware): http://dawningsoft.com/powerchm.html
