What am I talking about? The one highlighted in the attached picture with a yellow square.

When it goes from plain purple over grey to a purple square with a grey V in the middle, the text cursor changes to a block (instead of a line), and tabs, backspaces between lines and carriage returns all behave strangely.

I don't know what mode that represents, how I get it to invert like that, and there's no clue in the documentation. I'm thinking it must have been added after the original author of CE gave it away.

What else can one do when this happens but save their work, quit CE and restart it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

"V" stands for "OVR". This is the overwrite mode, it's turned on when you hit the "Insert" button. It looks like the label width was changes at some point so only the middle "V" is visible.

Thanks,
PN.
