Sorry for not posting it in the bug tracker, but i cannot register and i did not see anything about how to get in to it otherwise.

FTP does not work

You can successfully FTP but all the files and folders are showing dates in the file names (guessing modified dates) when you try to open anything using the the folder list by double clicking it fails, it appends the date in to the actual file name so a file that has a 03:46 next to it will get an error like this "550 /03:46 some_directory: no such file or directory"  you can get in to folders if you change your subdir in the properties and you can manually type a file name in to get around it, but the sub directory thing is a pain.

Thank you for reporting this. Someone will have to look back through the changes and see what change started the problem. Can anyone confirm that this is a general problem and not a problem just for lacissird?

Also, does anyone know an easy way to set up and environment to test FTP. I don't have write access to any FTP servers. Perhaps I could set up a local FTP server, but I have never done that before.

I confirmed that. It looks to be an issue:

lacissird:

I have rebuild it on my PC at rev 261 and I don't have an issue now. Could you try latest download either from http://forum.emeraldeditor.com/index.php?topic=361.msg2459#msg2459 or from http://sourceforge.net/projects/emeraldeditor/ thanks?

Phil,
Could it be specific to your VC environment?

Thanks,
PN.

That's very strange. Do you use VS 2005 or 2008?

Ok, I installed FileZilla FTP Server; so I can test everything off a local FTP server. I compiled revision 261, and I have the problem described here. I'll start trying older revisions to see if it was a regression.

Did you try binaries that I attached? Do you see problem with them? I did not see the problem after I compiled it myself.

I found the issue. It was a regression in revision 244. The date field in an FTP listing has three whitespace-separated groups, revision 244 changed it to only extract the first two of them; so the creation time was remaining as part of the filename. I think Pvt_Ryan must have done that by accident while he was trying to debug a similar issue.

I don't know why it worked for you, PN. Even your binaries showed the same problem on my machine.

I'm currently uploading revision 263 to http://forum.emeraldeditor.com/index.php?topic=361.msg2459#msg2459. It should be available as soon as my slow upload connection gets them out.

Excellent. That makes more sense. I probably tested something different since I have multiple versions installed. I have updated SourceForge downloads.

Thanks,
PN.
