I am now getting permissions sorted on the forum, and you might start to see a few new groups emerging. At the moment, the only groups are Developers and Beta Testers.

More will emerge as I finish doing the configuration work, but just to let you know that things are happening.

I was a 'Team Member', now I'm a 'Beta Tester', but I want to be a 'Developer' too. I'm going to have an identity crisis  Smiley

I like where you're heading with the groups but can see where there will be some blurring of the lines too. I can see some people being just one thing or another but I think you'll also see a lot of cross over too. Maybe go back to the 'Team Member' group and have a clarifier at the end of it...

Team Member - Development
Team Member - Moderator

Or something like....
Development Crew   (for everyone involved in creating EE in any capacity)
Forum Crew            ( for moderators and people involved in the site, but not necc EE itself)

Or they could be fun/cutesy ala JavaRanch and we could have:
Jewelers, gem cutters, miners, etc.

Regardless of the groups/titles used in the forums, there could then be a 'Staff' page with more complete info on what people do, or even a short bio if we wanted to go that far.

To sum up:

dsvick: Not sure what happened there. I guess it was where I originally set up the Team Member group and something random crept in. There is a very limited "Staff" page - http://www.emeraldeditor.com/about/

Zhrakkan, Emerald Fox: I'll see what I can do about that! Wink

I saw the about page, and that'll work too  Smiley

I figured you were playing with the groups when that happened, I noticed it right afer you had posted something about them. I sent you an email on it too, in case there was some setting wrong that you needed to fix  Smiley

Well, SMF has a whole different set up with regards to user groups compared to PunBB - people are assigned rankings and groups here.

You should now be a member of the Beta Testers group again Smiley although it still says you're a Newbie. That will change to Member after 10 posts (I think it's 10, anyway)
