Hi,

If you try to read the file attach to this mail using CE, all latest versions, you will "not" see some part of the text.
But if you use WordPad/PSPad/Notepad++ it is OK.

Something that could be interesting is the caracters shown at the beginning of the line using Notepad++, it's possible that is mess or use an option that hide the corresponding lines.

Bye.

Thank you,

This does appear to be a CE bug. I will post the issue in the bug-tracker.

The issue appears to be that CE does not display the rest of a line after a null byte. Use the bug tracker page for any follow ups. http://bugs.emeraldeditor.com/showreport.php?bugid=119

Hi,

to reply to the last comment in the Bug-Report : "Would be nice to know what program is creating that file, and why it is inserting a null byte in the middle of the file"

This is a file generated by a network device (system log), "null byte" is added at the beginning of each line under the line "Manager/Member Log - Unit x".

I will inform the constrcutor about this issue, but i do not think it will correct this situation.

Regards.

Hi,

If you replace "null byte" by a space, can you test that copy/cut is possible, because using PSPad in the same way cut/copy is not possible until the space is removed (but it is possible that it is not space but the null byte not shown).

Thanks in advance.

Side note when opening in metapad the following msg box appears:

Quote
This file is not a valid text file. It may be a binary file.
Convert any NULL terminators to spaces and load anyway?
