Hi,

Is there anyone out there that is good at html/css/js/xml/xslt that wants to recode the CE documetation to being it up-to-date and to make it look neater??

it really needs:
1. complete UI overhaul..
2. Made easier to update at will
3. Better navigation
4. nicer graphics

I know its doesnt seem important but this would be a great help to the project as the whole thing is a mess.

I could pick it up. I can do some html/css. I never played with js or xml but I could try. What is the desired functionality? Is there anything out there that looks similar?

tbh anything would be better that what its is atm.

I just want it to have a nice intuitive layout, and be easy for devs to add information without having to update (much, if any) html code.

Also iirc there are alot of CE's features and functionality that isn't documented, which could be added.

I am not saying you have to do all of the above but if you could get it started then others could add as well.

If you email me your changes then I will commit for you until we can get Arantor to give you commit access to the svn repo

Ok. I took a quick look at 3.72 docs and it looks like there is enough to work on for the beginning. I mean a some section need rewrite. If there is any thing in the code that you know is not mentioned in the docs please let me know.

I think some of the screenshots are a little dated and could do with being redone (just to be pernicity).

I dont know what isn't there myself offhand but I vaguely remember Arantor mentioning there was alot missing.

Yes. Some preferences were moved to different sections, this I can fix. I cannot fix things like $MULTILINESTRING variable in custom syntax files because it is undocumented feature.

Update.

I have replaced the screenshots and updated couple of Preferences sections. Still a lot to modify. I could not get GIF be as small as it was so changed everything to PNG.

Cheers,

Search wraps at end of file: ---- UNKNOWN ----

^^ I think that means if i start a search for a word in the middle of a document then when the search hits the end of the file it will start from the start of the file again until it reaches its start position.

Also FYI you have only changed the arrows for "Top ^" for the first couple of sections in preferences (ignore me if you already know that).

One other comment. maybe its just me but i prefer the "web pages" to be centered as opposed to left aligned..

Anyone differ from my view on this?

I will test out search wrap, I could not figure that out  Huh.
Yes, I'm aware of Top^ Smiley actually I changed it only for sections that where content is revised and should be up to date so I don't forget where I stopped Smiley But when you see any inconsistencies please let me know, I make mistakes from time to time.
It's probably not just you who likes centered pages, just kidding. I thought that it would be better to first make everything correct and then play with look. So let me finish updating it and then I'll take a look at it.
Cheers,
PN.
