one question how do u make it so that every time you post on any topic not just your own you receive an e-mail at your address to say that somebody has replied

There isn't a simple way of making it do this every time - the developers felt that it would not be great to have this as a default, since it adds a massive extra load as soon as many users start using it.

If you really need to do this, and really only on important topics, when posting you can select "Additional Options", and under there is a tickbox marked "Notify me of replies" - ticking that will email you when a reply has been posted.

In reality for many users it's simply not practical to do.
