problem is, when I open an SQL file (commonly these have enormous line lengths), emerald truncates the lines.
I get the following dialog box:

Crimson Editor SVN263:
Occurred Line Overflow!
Some part of the document contains more than 32767 characters in a line.  you may lose original file contents if you save this document.

lines should be calloc'd I should venture a guess, since a database row may contain a LONGTEXT field or LONGBLOB which would be a large binary object encoded in hex and would be exceeding long.

using malloc/calloc calls or something else that can handle large lines to allocate space for lines would allow for lines which are 2GB long.

another method would be to use pointers into the file.

Notepad++ can handle files with large lines such as SQL files.  but it doesn't have the easy column block functionality of crimson/emerald which I would like to switch to.
