I think we should have a running tally of active developers, their time commitments and their knowledge of programming... just to keep order and maybe even help to draw people in. For instance, we could open up tasks that need to be done and a description of exactly what would need to be done and then people could sign-up to help the effort of that. Right now on the forums, we talk of helping development but we can't see what needs to be done. We need to have tangible tasks other than "Work on Emerald". Just as idea.

That's certainly one thing that I want to implement, but before we do that we need to sit down and put together a decent design so that we know what we've got to do, and what tasks are coming up.
